OUR STORY

Welcome to Filigree Patisserie. Our story began with a simple desire: a drive for creating and sharing elegant and decadent pastries that make the little things in life more enjoyable. Every bite is full of our love and commitment to the craft, featuring locally sourced and high-quality ingredients. 

 

Our owner and Pastry Chef, Kent Lukey, combined his meticulous scientific knowledge and love of baking to create Filigree. He initially pursued a science degree at the U of R, but switched gears and took those skills to the kitchen, eventually receiving a Diploma in Baking and Pastry Arts from SAIT. He is currently one step away from completing his Red Seal as a Pastry Chef. 

 

At Filigree, we strongly believe in the bee. It’s our symbol that represents hard work, diligence and prosperity. Without which, there would be no ingredients to create our incredible products with. Highlighting our continued commitment to sustainability, our packaging is carbon neutral and we utilize local and organic ingredients in all of our products. Small local businesses supporting each other, just like a bee colony.

The Answers You Need

What exactly are macarons made of?

Macarons are almond meringue cookies consisting of almond flour, sugar and egg whites. These are then used to sandwich our incredibly flavourful fillings made from buttercream, ganache, jam, pate des fruits, curds and more!

Are macarons gluten free?

While there is no gluten in our macarons, we do work in a kitchen that uses flour in other items, so we cannot guarantee no cross contamination. 

Do you ship your macarons?

Unfortunately we do not yet ship our macarons. Find us at a local event near you to get your hands on some!
